Dr Lola Yesares, iCRAG Postdoctoral researcher in the UCD School of Earth Sciences has been awarded a Charlemont Grant by the Royal Irish Academy. The award will allow Dr yesares to travel to the Scottish Universities Environmental Research Centre (SUERC) for a period of five weeks to perform in situ sulphur isotope analysis to investigate geochemical halos on the recently discovered Tara Deep deposit. Dr Yesare's project seeks mainly to develop new mineral exploration methods apply to Irish zinc-lead deposits.
The scheme is a travel grants scheme aimed at early-career postdoctoral researchers who are not more than seven years past the award of their PhDs. It facilitates short international visits for the conduct of primary research in any subject area.
