Dr Maria O'Brien

Biography

Maria O’Brien joined iCRAG in September 2017 as Grants Coordinator. This role involves working with iCRAG members in identifying funding opportunities and in developing their proposal. Prior to joining iCRAG, Maria worked at the Higher Education Authority (HEA) for 11 years where she held a number of different roles in both the HEA (policy and planning unit) and in the Irish Research as a research support officer and more recently as a Programme Manager.  As Programme Manager, Maria managed the PI-led Projects portfolio which included the development of the IRC Laureate Awards Programme and was NCP for both ERC (SH) and Societal Challenge 6 (Europe in a Changing World). Other previous roles include a secondment to the Institutes of Technology, Ireland as a research programmes co‐ordinator and a career break to work at the British Academy in the role of International Manager.
