Biography
Dr. Mehran Khan is a postdoctoral researcher at the University College Dublin, Ireland. His research focuses on development of low carbon 3D printed concretes. He has served as an Associate Editor, Academic Editor, Editorial board member, Special issues Guest Editor, and Topical Advisory Panel Member for various academic journals and international conferences. He has authored more than 50 publications and his publications have received over 2,300 citations, resulting in an h-index of 32 and an i10-index of 36.
Researchers are exploring ways to use 3D printing to create concrete structures that have a lower carbon footprint. This involves developing new concrete mixtures that use less cement, which is a major contributor to carbon emissions, and also incorporating recycled materials into the mix. By using 3D printing technology, it is possible to create complex shapes and designs that would be difficult to achieve with traditional construction methods. This research has the potential to make concrete construction more sustainable and reduce the environmental impact of the construction industry.
