Title: A rock physics perspective on the factors controlling poor sub-basalt imagery on continental margins
Researchers: Dr Gaurav Tomar, Prof. Chris Bean
The primary objective of this work is to better understand the reasons for poor sub-basalt imagery on continental margins and to suggest methods (acquisition / processing) for improving such images. The aim is to take a combined rock physics/field scale/structural juxtaposition approach to understanding how ‘basalts’ present on reflection seismic sections.
