Background & Team
Over the past several months, discrimination in many different forms have been at
the forefront of many discussions. Numerous people, including those within the
geoscience community, have shared experiences with prejudice, inequity, sexism,
bias, exclusion, and discrimination. This has sparked open conversations and has
prompted many groups into addressing equality, diversity, and inclusion related
issues within their organizations.
the forefront of many discussions. Numerous people, including those within the
geoscience community, have shared experiences with prejudice, inequity, sexism,
bias, exclusion, and discrimination. This has sparked open conversations and has
prompted many groups into addressing equality, diversity, and inclusion related
issues within their organizations.
To keep the discussions and learning moving forward, researchers at the Irish Centre
for Research in Applied Geosciences (iCRAG), in collaboration with several external
geoscientists, have started organizing events related to Equality, Diversity, and
Inclusion in Geoscience (EDIG). Our aim is to promote effective, long-term change
and to help our community become more inclusive and equal.
