Biography
Catherine Coxon is a researcher in the iCRAG groundwater spoke. She is an Associate Professor in Environmental Sciences based in TCD Geology / Centre for the Environment, carrying out research on groundwater quality and water resource management. She is the PI on iCRAG Project GW3.2 PhD 3, working in collaboration with researchers from Teagasc on the occurrence of synthetic organic compounds in Irish karst and fractured bedrock aquifers arising from rural activities, with a primary focus on agricultural antiparasitic agents. The project will aim to determine the factors controlling these occurrences, including contaminant sources, chemical properties and pathway factors including soil and geological / hydrogeological characteristics.
