iCRAG co-curated The Energy Transition Area (ETA) for the second year in a row at the EAGE Annual Conference in Oslo in June, hosting three days of dynamic discussions, interactive workshops and technical talks. The ETA is dedicated to professionals in the energy sector, academics and students who play a vital role in achieving emissions targets.
Lunchtime Panels included a discussion on the evolving role of geoscience for a positive energy future, assessing the potential of Norwegian offshore wind and concluded with a compelling debate on how we can foster understanding between those inside and outside the oil and gas sector for the green transition.
The Theatre also featured interactive workshops with industry focusing on enhancing collaboration between the sector and academia to prioritise research questions to accelerate the energy transition, alongside valuable career advice for young professionals entering this transformative field.
iCRAG researchers and Operations team members presented technical papers, showcased our education and public engagement work with schools, convened sessions on critical minerals and repurposing geoscience for the energy transition and participated on panels with industry leaders.
iCRAG Business Development Manager Emer Caslin highlighted the strategic nature of the event: “The Theatre was an excellent opportunity for our researchers to engage with industry, witness the significant traction the sector is making in the transition and discuss research opportunities that can help accelerate our move to a low-carbon society.
The conference sparked numerous valuable discussions and facilitated meaningful connections with industry players and European academic institutions laying the groundwork for future partnerships, driving innovation and progress for the energy transition.”
