Biography
Conrad Childs is the Tullow Oil Lecturer in Structural Geology in the UCD School of Earth Sciences and a co-director of the Fault Analysis Group. His research interests focus on the geometry and evolution of faults and their impact on fluid flow in the sub-surface. Conrad’s main involvement in iCRAG is overseeing work on the structural evolution of the Irish offshore basins within hydrocarbons spoke.
Active iCRAG projects:
- The kinematics of fault systems in offshore Ireland – implications for fault related trapping and leakage - Dr Muhammad Mudasar Saqab
- Structural and kinematic analysis of the Celtic Sea basins - exploring links between evolution and traps - Pablo Rodiguez Salgado
- Structural and kinematic analysis of the Slyne and Erris basins - exploring links between structural evolution and traps - Conor O'Sullivan
- Discrete element numerical modelling of the evolution of fault systems - Klemens Kaserer
