On a recent trip to north west Scotland as part of the education and public engagement programme in iCRAG, Dr Jiulin Cole Guo brought a group of schoolchildren from China on a journey through living rocks. Cole collaborated with Nan Zhao - the founder of  the Experiential Learning Program (China) - to take Jesse (11 years old) and Qingqing (14 years old) on an orogenic expedition. The search for evidence of mountain building was very exciting. To the students, now the dead rocks are back to life, moving and flying over space and time. The planet never stands still!
