iCRAG, the SFI Research Centre for Applied Geosciences, and international partners are running Virtual Girls into Geoscience 2021 today, June 28th, and tomorrow, June 29th.
The Girls into Geoscience (GiG) initiative, now in its seventh year of operation, aims to introduce young female senior cycle students to the wealth of career opportunities in the available in the geosciences.
Speakers at the two day event include Dr Natasha Dowey, Sheffield Hallam University, Dr Marie Cowan, Geological Survey of Northern Ireland, Dr Rehemat Bhatia, Natural Environment Research Council and Professor Anjali Goswami, Natural History Museum.
The 2021 edition is being held virtually, with GiG Ireland teaming up with partners GiG UK, GiG Wales, GiG Scotland and new this year, GiG North.
